The Carcinogenesis Speciality Section provides a forum for EUROTOX Individual Members and European Toxicology national societies members to discuss all aspects of carcinogenesis (animal testing, human aspects, mechanisms, and regulatory consequences). Within EUROTOX, the Speciality Section fosters discussions on matters associated with the toxicology of carcinogenic compounds.
Since 1999, the Speciality Section organises educational conferences known as EUROTOX Training and Discussion Sessions (T&D Sessions). First held in Basel/Switzerland by Dr. Robert Ettlin, the T&D Sessions were established as benchside tutorials in toxicology. Since then, the following T&D Sessions have been held: T&D Sessions 1-4 (Basel, Switzerland), T&D Sessions 5-6 (Dortmund, Germany), T&D Sessions 7-9 (Maastricht, The Netherlands), T&D Session 10-11 (Dortmund, Germany), T&D Session 12 (Witten-Bommerholz, Germany), T&D Session13 (Bochum, Germany), T&D Sessions 14-15 (Antalya, Turkey), T&D Session 16 (Dortmund, Germany), T&D Sessions 17-18 (Antalya, Turkey).
Forthcoming is the 19th T&D Session, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 27/28 Feb 2012. It is entitled “Toxicology and Carcinogenicity of Inorganic Compounds”.
