EUROTOX supports fellowships to Gordon Research Conference

EUROTOX is sponsoring fellowships for early career scientists, postdocs or students from European countries to attend the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) ‘Cellular and Molecular and Mechanisms of Toxicity (CMMT)’ taking place August 13-18, 2017 in New Hampshire, USA.  There is also an associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) 12-13th August 2018 organised by and for students and postdocs.  For more information about the Fellowship program, please contact the conference vice chair  Click on links for details of the Gordon Research Conference and Gordon Research Seminar

The organizing committee is pleased to announce that the 5th BelTox Workshop on Non-clinical Safety Assessment of Biopharmaceuticals will take place on Thursday 11 May 2017 at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Beerse, Belgium.  The topic of this year’s meeting will be The importance of species selection to predict the human safety of biopharmaceuticals.  The format of the workshop will be similar to the previous ones; i.e. lectures by international experts in the morning and the analysis of case studies in round table discussions in the afternoon, followed by a general discussion with the audience to foster interactions.

Registration is now open on the Beltox website. Registration fees, including coffee breaks and lunch, are € 250 for BelTox members and 400 € for non-members.

Basic Training in Toxicology E-Learning Series

The American College of Toxicology (ACT) and the British Toxicology Society (BTS) are offering a training in toxicology webinar series. These educational modules provide twelve modules of basic toxicology training by experts in the field to professionals and students worldwide. The live webinars are offered every other month in 60–75-minute segments followed by 15 minutes for questions and answers. Registrants have access to the webinar recordings for thirty days following the live webinar. Additionally, users can take advantage of these stand-alone segments by viewing the e-learning archives when it’s convenient.

Practical Application of Toxicology in Drug Development

The British Toxicology Society is very pleased to announce that it will partner once again with the American College of Toxicology to run this course in 2017 at the excellent Moeller Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge, UK.

This course taught by distinguished experts will provide opportunities for scientists from all parts of the world to participate in a course providing training in toxicology as applied in Drug Development.

Participants will obtain an overall understanding of the principles of nonclinical safety evaluation with emphasis on the practical application of these principles and interpretation of nonclinical safety data. Regulatory toxicology in drug development will be emphasised, from both a European and a US perspective.

Through the week the participants will participate in tutored group study of regulatory cases and original data from a regulatory submission which will conclude with a half-day workshop on the last morning.
