GREAT TURN OUT OF TRISK APPLICATIONS CONFIRMS THE INTEREST FOR RISK ASSESSMENT TRAINING

With the deadline for submission ending October 16, a total of 117 applications representing 30 countries were received from candidates interested to attending TRISK, the European Toxicology Risk Assessment Training Program, a programme co-financed by the European Commission under the Second Programme of Community Action in the field of Health (2008-2013).

Applications received from University/Research institutes accounted for 57% (67 applications), while candidates from Authority and Industry resulted in 21% (24 applications) and 16% (19 applications), respectively.

The greatest numbers of applicants were received from Sweden, Germany, Italy, Greece and Portugal, yet submissions were received from almost all of the European Member States, thanks to the dedicated dissemination efforts from all collaborating partners and in particular EUROTOX.

The first TRISK Module, " Introduction to risk assessment and management, with special attention to chemical risk assessment" organized by Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) will take place February 1-5, 2010.
