Toxicology letters is the Official Journal of EUROTOX. Toxicology Letters is an international journal published by Elsevier for the rapid publication of short reports on all aspects of toxicology, especially mechanisms of toxicity. The current Impact Factor of Toxicology Letters is 2.241. This journal has experiment a significant increase in its impact index during last years HISTORY
1962 EUROTOX has its roots in the European Society for the Study of Drug Toxicity, which was founded in Zurich. 1963 The first annual scientific meeting was held in Paris. 1974 As the society's interests started to extend into toxicology areas other than drug toxicology, it decided to change the name to European Society of Toxicology (EST) taking effect at the scientific meeting in Carlsbad. 1985 With the rapid growth of national societies membership EST and 14 national societies (Finland, France, the GermanFederalRepublic, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom) decided to establish the Federation of European Societies of Toxicology (FEST) at the EST congress in Kuopio. 1989 To create unnecessary duplications, at the 5th IUTOX Congress in Brighton, EST and FEST merged andadopted the name EUROTOX. Today EUROTOX consists of 30 national societies including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine in addition to the previous ones |
