  • Fair, transparent and efficient evaluation of all submissions to give the best scientific program possible.
  • Scientific excellence is the primary driver, but evaluation panel also needs to ensure balance across topics, sectors (industry, government academia) and demographics (geography, gender, etc.)
  • Flexibility to revise or convert proposal to fill slots in the program is necessary.

Possible reasons why a proposal was rejected

  • Incomplete or missing information: ensure your proposal is fully developed with all required information included.
  • Insufficient balance in gender, generation, or geography: aim for diversity in your proposal's representation.
  • Topic repetition from recent past congresses: select fresh and innovative topics.
  • Content overlap with other submissions.
  • Low reviewer scores: mainly due to other reasons listed.
  • No endorsement: seek collaboration with similar groups
